What is the Innovation Market Place?

An opportunity for groups of students to work on a real innovation focused project for Magura

  • Each group will undertake a user focussed design study to generate concepts to solve Magura’s challenge.

  • Students will be guided through this process by academics from the partner institutions over a 9 week period.

  • The process will begin with a visit to Magura headquarters in Germany to get firsthand experience of the challenge. Then a full day workshop to guide you through the design process.

  • At the end of the 9 weeks students pitch their ideas to Magura and the other course participants at an event at TU Delft. The best concepts will be judged and a winner decided.

The challenge

Cargo bikes are a growing form of transportation option globally. Their increased length and variable load capacity present challenges to steering and braking.

The challenge will be to develop innovative concepts which address the needs the teams identify through the guided design process.

When?

The Innovation Marketplace will run between 18th October to 11th December

  • A visit to Magura Headquarters will take place 24/25th October

  • Core specialist 2hr workshops will be delivered across 6 sessions and students must make themselves available for these sessions.

  • Core design content will be followed by drop-in workshop sessions.

  • The final event will be held on the 11th and 12th December at TU Delft
