Established in 1993 in Le Mans, France, Labosport has become a leading laboratory dedicated to sports surfaces and sports equipment. We constantly innovate to improve the overall quality, safety and durability of sports surfaces.

Our mission is the continuous improvement of sport infrastructures around the world. We focus on safety, performance, durability and environmental sustainability. We work with local communities (clubs, schools), as well as international level facility owners and world class stadia. By our daily commitment into sports surfaces and equipment we contribute to support and develop “sports for all”.

Over the years we have developed a strong multi-disciplinary team with expertise in chemistry, engineering, agronomy, sports performance and materials science. There are 16 Labosport labs in 14 countries around the world. With 130 scientists, engineers and skilled technicians, we make our collective knowledge, experience and global network available to our clients.

Thanks to its leading expertise, Labosport participates in most of the technical committees held by sport federations, standards committees and other official institutions in the world. We have the largest scope of accreditation which is regularity assessed by different national accreditation bodies in France (COFRAC), Italy (ACCREDIA) and the UK (UKAS).

Sports Engineering Competences

  • Testing of sports surfaces and equipment in accordance with international norms (EN/BSI/ISO) and governing bodies (e.g. FIFA / International Tennis Federations)

  • Testing of materials used in sports surfaces and equipment (e.g. UV resilience, content of PAHs, content of heavy metals etc)

  • Development of new test methods (e.g. pole vault landing beds / goal line technology)

  • Design of sports facilities and project management

  • General sports engineering consultancy
